Afternoon all from a very sunny Edinburgh Napier campus. My post today was prompted by the 2010 JISC Conference blog competition but, to be honest, I’ve been meaning to get this out there for a couple of months now so thanks JISC for the kick in the pants! The request was for examples of technology that we can’t live without, that engages colleagues and makes research quicker and easier. Well, for the past six months or so I’ve been working on a website that attempts to tick all of these boxes. The system is based around the ELGG platform and is essentially a social networking site for educators and researchers, created to allow them to collaborate and communicate more easily in order to promote cross-faculty research and sharing of best practise.
Anyway, I wont witter on too much here when I could let the video speak for itself. Enjoy the show and please get in touch to let me know what you think.
